FABULA INCROCI

February 11 - May 14, 2017 | digital art | >> MUPA Museo del Paesaggio, Torre di Mosto

Curated by Giorgio Baldo & Stefano Cecchetto
The exhibition was conceived to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Museo del Paesaggio (Landscape Museum) by exploring new avenues for its future research. It aims to unveil a different "landscape"—one rooted in the fantastical realms that animate the great literary works of humanity, much like a hidden karst river brings life to the land.

Morucchio introduced a reimagined version of his >> Suspense Pulp series, a two-dimensional installation comprising six 30x30 cm prints on mirrored Perspex. This work draws inspiration from 1950s comics and science fiction films, which mirrored the anxieties of the era by portraying alien monsters as invaders from distant worlds. The reference to "pulp" connects to the coarse, grainy texture of early comic book paper, emphasizing its raw, "dirty" quality.

The exhibition also seeks to uncover and present the grand narratives—mythologies, fables, and fantastical adventures—that, over centuries, have created an alternative world alongside our own. Though unreal in physical terms, this world teems with extraordinary images, the pure creations of human imagination.

In addition to reinterpretations of classic stories and fables, the exhibition features more contemporary tales. We have engaged artists who have previously exhibited at the Museum and introduced new works by some of the most significant Italian and international artists in the fields of illustration and comics, blending these with paintings and installations to create a rich, multi-layered experience.
